About Us

Eye of Newt Theatre Arts are three women working collaboratively to create beautiful, interactive and engaging theatre arts experiences.

Sandra McCracken

Sandra is a visual artist, qualified teacher and experienced community  artist. She is currently working with Handmade Productions, Plunge Boom, 509 Arts and Mind the Gap. She has also been involved with Walk the Plank for Manchester Day Parade and Cartwheel Arts.

She loves to work with clay, papier-mâché and paint to create puppets and masks. When not creating work for performance, she is often busy with illustration commissions, graphic design, copy-writing or project management.

Rowan Taylor

 Rowan is an artist and maker with a particular interest and experience in carnival and is currently associate artist with Global Grooves, Handmade Parade and Cabasa Carnival Arts. She has designed work for Chester Zoo The Lanterns. Rowan has also designed and produced work for parades and walkabouts at Bluedot, Kendal Calling, Cotton Clouds and Oldham Illuminate.

Mel Daniels

Mel has a background in theatre and devising. She is a qualified Drama in education practitioner and has created bespoke schools' workshops with her own children’s drama company. Mel is currently working with Plunge Boom and has performed with Global Grooves at parades and festivals. Mel has designed and made costumes for Nightfall Festival and Lamplighter.
